Media Technology News: AE Live partners with Quidich

AE Live partners with Quidich to offer its clients enhanced production values for audiences, with the use of beautiful drone shots of stadiums, combined with data rich AR content.
03 June 2021: AE Live partners with Quidich – AE Live (AE) is excited to announce its partnership with specialist broadcast technology providers, Quidich.
Similar to AE, Quidich has forged itself a reputation for its innovative use of technology to enhance storytelling of sports productions, through services with various camera technologies such as drones, buggies, four-point systems and optical player tracking. Their passion for engineering and creativity saw them become the first company in the world to deliver broadcast grade augmented reality (AR) content on live drone feeds, through their proprietary tracking engine – Spatio. Spatio is designed to add to the storytelling of a broadcast by delivering larger than life AR graphics, using stunning, expansive drone shots. This has enabled them to successfully secure partnerships and contracts with some of the world’s largest broadcasters and federations including BCCI, Star Sports and ICC.
AE’s new partnership with Quidich means it can offer its clients more exciting opportunities to enhance production values for audiences, with the use of beautiful drone shots of stadiums, combined with data rich AR content.
Alastair Robbins, AE’s Commercial Director said “We have worked alongside Quidich at several sporting events, such as the 2020 Indian Premier League, and we have been impressed with their ability to create incredible aerial shots and incorporate data and graphics.
Our partnership brings together AE’s experience in project management and implementing solutions at the world’s highest profile sporting events, with Quidich’s expertise in developing and operating the best in drone and camera technology”.
Gaurav Mehta, Quidich’s Co-founder said, “We’re certain that with AE Live’s proven prowess in data and graphics, combined with Quidich’s commitment to bringing machines and machine learning to live sport, broadcasters and leagues globally will have the opportunity to provide their audiences new and fresh perspectives, adding to the storytelling of the game and enhancing visual appeal”.
